This course reveals the multidiciplinary interconnectedness of nutrition and brain. A special emphasis is given to i) the effects of different foods on our behaviour and cognition; ii) mechanisms that can explain these relations, especially focusing on gut-brain communication, and iii) early nutrition and the development of brain. Also, research approaches to study the effects of nutrition on cognition and brain development are explained and methods as well as study settings that can be used to further reveal these complex mechanisms are discussed.
