This intensive course (TILM 3594) covers a range of themes from the book “Computer Age Statistical Inference – Algorithms, Evidence and Data Science” by D. Efron and T. Hastie (Cambridge University Press). The course is intended primarily to statistics students close to completing their Master’s degree or newly-started Ph.D. students in statistics, but it is also suitable for doctoral students and exchange students from other disciplines with sufficient background in statistical modelling. The emphasis of the course is on ideas, concepts and interpretation although concrete examples from the book will also be covered.
