Day 1: Basics of copyrights, teaching and good practices, production of data and its use in research, licences and data protection. 

Day 2: Introduction to the patent system and research, how to file a patent application, IPR strategies (trademarks and branding); and determining whose rights. 

Students are required to take at least 3 modules from the e-course Guide to IPRs, and approve their respective quizzes. The individual assignment has two parts. The first part, relates to Patents or the Copyright modules, this is a case provided in the modules that will require the student to implement the theoretical knowledge from lectures and the e-modules. Part two, is a learning diary from the day(s) the student took part in the lectures. Both to be delivered in the same assignment.
