Objectives
Students will be able to analyse various socio-political issues in contemporary Japan and beyond by critically applying various critical social theories. Students will learn to engage in academic discussions and use key concepts and language of social sciences. They will learn to critically assess information from various sources, including the news media. Students will learn to identify the fundamental structural problems and causal relations of Japan's contemporary challenges in the framework of sustainable development. They will develop skills to construct an argument in academic discussions.
