The aim of the seminar is to support doctoral researchers in their research by addressing themes such as funding, research methods across disciplines, scientific frameworks, academic writing, time management, and the peer review process. The seminar is open to all doctoral researchers within the faculty, offering them the opportunity to discuss their research with peers from other disciplines. The interdisciplinary exchange helps students situate their own research within a broader, interdisciplinary context.

The students will familiarize themselves with the imaging modalities used by the University hospital and hospital district by performing a given project work. The goal is to gain a deeper understanding of the use of different imaging modalities in patient diagnostics. The technologies can be X-Ray radiography, Tomography, Gamma imaging, MRI, Ultrasound imaging, PET imaging, or something similar.

Kurssin jälkeen väitöskirjatutkijalla on selkeä kuva tieteellisissä
julkaisuissa julkaistavien tekstien muodoista, sisällöistä sekä
julkaisujen toimituksellisista prosesseista ja vertaisarvioinnista. Hän
osaa suunnitella, aikatauluttaa ja toteuttaa tieteellisessä lehdessä
julkaistavan vertaisarvioidun artikkelin.
Kurssi on tarkoitettu väitöskirjatutkijoille kaikista tiedekunnista ottaen huomioon, että luennoitsijat ovat ihmistieteistä.
