This course includes lectures, learning diaries and an essay. The students are expected to participate in 6-8 lectures (12-16h) delivered by the principle investigators and senior researchers of INVEST. The course is intended for students of MDPINVEST and DPINVEST. The course is also open to all graduate students and researchers in INVEST and Department of Social Research, and to exchange students.

Learning objectives: 

• Familiarity with the topics, themes and subprojects of the INVEST flagship project. 

• A broad understanding of the different approaches to inequality in the social sciences 

• Familiarity with the methods that can employed to study topics in INVEST 

• The development of a multidisciplinary perspective on solving specific problems in the welfare state. 

• Some ideas about how to construct and implement targeted interventions in tackling inequality.
