The course explores gendered, cultural and political dimensions of Nordic welfare states. It gives an introduction to studying gender, gender equality, intersectionality, gendered racism and sexual and gender minorities within the Nordic context.

The course consists of 8 lectures (8*2h) by various lecturers, who are experts in the field. In addition to attending the lectures, students are expected to read course literature, consisting of 8 articles assigned by the lecturers (1 article/session). Articles will provide background information of each topic, and it is recommended that students read the assigned article before each lecture. Students are also encouraged to participate in class discussions based on both the article and the lecture.
