Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to completely revolutionize health and healthcare systems throughout the world. AI-enabled healthcare systems will provide a unique multidisciplinary environment for training the best healthcare AI scientists of the future. In the medical area, AI is anticipated to expand driving innovations in healthcare management and delivery by analyzing patient data using algorithms. The potential for AI in healthcare applications is boundless, from assisting doctors in improving diagnosis, therapy, patient monitoring, and more. This course will cover the fundamental applications of AI related to healthcare and biomedicine. The students will learn AI algorithms, medical use cases, healthcare-specific metrics, and best practices for developing, implementing, and assessing AI applications in healthcare and biomedicine.

The aim of this course is to present and apply AI methods to healthcare and biomedicine problems. AI systems can identify patterns from biomedical and healthcare data sets in order to achieve useful insights into disease diagnosis or therapy. With hands-on examples, this course will focus on practical applications of AI in healthcare and biomedicine. Hence in this course, several AI algorithms will be utilized for the analysis of biomedical data sets such as imaging, omics, health records related to different diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular, infectious and neurological disorders.
