The minicourse offers the students an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the praxis of music video analysis and current trends in the field. The study day is comprised of two joining lectures, a workshop and a written assignment, including assigned readings (3–6 articles/book chapters, depending on the chosen study credits). Some of the materials are distributed in Moodle prior to the course and students are expected to read them before the lectures. The lectures provide the bases for music video analyses: what to look for and how to discuss it. The workshop entails a joint task, with additional guidance for the independent written assignment. The written assignment is a miniature analysis of a chosen music video, with emphasis on the lecture materials and additional readings.
