The workshop offers an introduction to the history and currents of postcolonial theory for doctoral students in the education and social sciences and shows their importance for the analysis of theories and phenomena of globalization. On the basis of the research projects of the participants, we work out what it means to look at and analyze different topics from a postcolonial perspective. The workshop offers equal parts of input, practical exercises and reflexive moments in the group. The discussion is stimulated by creative forms of working and writing. At the end of the workshop, participants will have gained an overview of the origin, important positions and manifestations of postcolonial theories. They will be able to transfer insights from individual theories to concrete case studies and continue to work independently with these conceptual approaches.
