Objectives

After passing the course, the doctoral researcher will:
- learn about cutting-edge and smart technologies in mechanical engineering, as well as their roles in
the industry;
- learn about the theoretical/scientific basis and the state of the art of modern mechanical and
manufacturing technologies;
- be able to compare conventional mechanical and manufacturing technologies with their advanced
counterparts, as well as learn about their pros and cons depending on the application;
- understand the fundamentals of mechanical design for parts produced by advanced manufacturing;
- be familiar with the sustainability issues related to the advanced mechanical and manufacturing
technologies;
- be familiar with the opportunities of advanced mechanical manufacturing technologies in product
development and production from a business point of view.
