The course gives the student an introduction to Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) and Raman spectroscopy techniques, their short historical developments, and basis on molecular vibrations, symmetry and to spectra-structure correlations.
Different measurement techniques will be explained in order to give the student a broad overview of commercially available instrumentation. After the course the student is familiar with principles, instrumentation and application of FTIR and Raman spectroscopy techniques.
