The aim of the course is to offer the student a basic knowledge of Finnish language to cope with some situations linked with the student’s everyday life in Finland. The student will also get to know some basics of Finnish culture and customs. The course includes pronunciation and listening comprehension exercises, communication tasks and pair work. The course concentrates on practical language use and thus, grammar is discussed to a lesser extent.
Topics: Greetings, asking and answering basic questions, countries and nationalities, numbers, days of the week and months, food and eating, shopping; phrases connected to these subjects.
