Tavoitteet
Opintojakson suoritettuaan opiskelija pystyy sujuvasti käyttämään keskeisiä kehityspsykologisia käsitteitä ja osaa analysoida ihmisen kehitystä ja siihen vaikuttavia tekijöitä laaja-alaisesti. Opiskelija on syventänyt tietämystään ihmisen sosiaalisen, emotionaalisen ja kognitiivisen kehityksen teorioista ja tutkimusmenetelmistä ja hän oppii alan tutkimustulosten kriittistä arviointia.
Course objectives
After completing this study module, the student is able to use the key concepts in developmental psychology and analyze human psychological development and its determinants comprehensively. The student has deepened his/her knowledge of the theories of human social, emotional and cognitive development and the methods of developmental psychology. The student learns to critically evaluate the results of research studies in the field.
The study module aims at deepening understanding about the key concepts and research methodologies in developmental psychology, their origins, and current status. The module focuses on the social, emotional, and cognitive development of a child from infancy onwards.
