Objectives
After the course, the student will be able to describe the basic principles of immune defence, list the most important components of both innate and adaptive immune system, and explain on a general level how immune cells and other components interact and co-operate in immune responses. The student will also be able to understand the complexity of defence mechanisms and name examples of immune-mediated diseases in which a defence mechanism either fails to protect against infections or promotes inflammatory disease. After the course, the student also knows some tehcnical approaches to study and determine components of immune system and their interactions.
