Course objectives
After completing this course a student has both detailed theoretical knowledge and practical hands-on laboratory experience in different Firewall and IPS technologies. The student can specify, design, administer and analyze network security solutions based on both commercial and open source firewall and IPS software, has a good general understanding of network security, and deeper knowledge on specific advanced network security issues.
The course strengthens the following working life skills: creativity, problem solving skills, project management, information and communication technology skills, networking skills, communication skills and cooperation and negotiation skills.
