Objectives

Subject specific competence
After the course the student can:
· Describe operating principles of key energy storage technologies, including
their benefits and fundamental limitations.
· Select relevant technologies for energy storage, including storage and
conversion components.
· Design an energy storage interface for a power system or a power train, as a
member working cooperatively in a small multidisciplinary team.
· Share the expertise of one’s field in a heterogeneous team.

Transferable skills

Students practice working in small groups developing their collaboration skills. Students can describe and justify the topic of a scientific project and present the results of the project in writing, working as a group. will be able to evaluate the economic feasibility of an energy storage system, and recognize both positive and negative sustainability aspects of the storage systems. They can bring together individual assignments into a comprehensive report and draw main conclusions. Students also develop their presentation skills.
