Objectives
Students recognise the importance of digital design tools used in modern product development.
Students can explain how digital transformation has enabled online collaboration between
engineers in different disciplines and geographical locations. The course gives practical skills and
understanding of computer-aided design and how it is connected to product data management and
enterprise resource planning systems. Students can describe how hidden knowledge can be
retained in digital products using theories of engineering intent, constraint-based design, and core
product models.
