Objectives

- Students can identify, synthesize, and evaluate main arguments of opposing views and present them in a way that initiates discussion and thinking.
- Students can connect their educational cultural background to the issues in discussions and learn from other students’ educational cultural background.
- Students review opposing views, integrate relevant literature and articulate their own views through their writing in a position paper.
- The course aims to promote critical thinking, responsibility of learning, and (cross)cultural awareness. It also aims to strengthen constructive communication of ideas and arguments to peers.
