Objectives

(1) student presents a plan to master international legal doctrines as related to questions of emerging technologies on advanced level; the plan is the "Research Plan" which prospects the conduct and completion of the research work and the thesis project (alternatively called "Prospectus")
(2) student learns to use the KMPAGD-model as the basis of the plan (see course Moodle and class for instructions)
(3) In the plan, the student:
(3.1) situates her/his/their research both in an academic (literature) and in a state-of-the-world (concrete) context
(3.2) critically examines the background motive and goals of her/his/their research
(3.3) plans how to address, motivate, and analyse potential audiences and stakeholders
(3.4) presents a feasible time and project plan, including background research, reading and writing schedule, and/or conduct of other research tasks (e.g. interviews)
(3.5) presents a work-in-progress level of table of contents with prospected page and time count for thesis parts
(3.6) presents a preliminary bibliography and a list of other sources
(3.7) addresses the requirements of research ethics and quality control as needed
(3.8) displays the hallmarks of academic research and science including balancing of views, academic and source critique, objectivity, methodological choice
4. Student revises her/his/their plan according to feedback and supervisory advice
