Objectives
By the end of this course, a student will:
• Understand the basic concepts of bioeconomy, with a focus on biorefineries as integral components of the circular (bio)economy. Develop a solid foundation in core biotechnological principles essential for sustainable development.
• Analyze and critically evaluate the role of photosynthetic organisms in biorefineries. Develop a good understanding of their contributions to sustainable biotechnologies.
• Explore the current landscape of sustainable biotechnologies, including initiatives aimed at enhancing biomass resources and fostering the development of emerging technologies for sustainable biotechnological production.
