Objectives
Students will understand the essence of qualitative, quantitative and mixed futures research methods. They will be able to describe the field of futures research methods from many viewpoints and relate key methods to each other. Distinction between data gathering and data analysis methods is clear to them. Students know how to select which method for what purpose, and acknowledge the flexibility of the use of the methods. They will understand how the research question critically drives the choice of methods in research design. They will also know the principles of specific key methods. As a generic goal, the student will enhance her/his academic writing skills.
