Objectives
After passing the course, the student is familiar with the key concepts and methods for studying economic inequality. The student knows the central dimensions in which inequality is studied and is familiar with practical measurement issues that must be resolved in conjuction with studying inequality. The student is familiar with long-run trends in inequality across the globe and understands the relationship between economic inequality and mobility. The student is able to formulate questions about and analyse issues concerning economic inequality as well as critically discuss them on the basis of modern research approaches. The study module trains students in critical thinking and argumentation about inequality. The module requires a basic understanding of quantitative analysis and the application of scientific knowledge.
