Objectives
The overall objective of the course is to provide an introduction to why Open Science is essential to rigorous, reproducible and transparent research. The course approaches Open science broadly and examines Open Science as a set of principles and practices that aim to make scientific research accessible to everyone for the benefits of scientists and society as a whole.
The course helps to understand the relevance of Open Science in relation to research integrity, reproducibility, and impact. In addition, the course introduces tools for embracing Open Science at each stage of the research process. After completing optional the Citizen Science module, the student understands the principles and practical implementation of citizen science, and can describe how public participation can contribute to research transparency, openness, and societal impact.
