Objectives
After the course, the student will understand the basic properties of event history models. The student is able to read relevant introductory-level methods literature and applied empirical research articles and is able to independently search for information on data analysis and methods. The student is able to conduct their own research using event history models and communicate their results orally and in a written research report.
After the course, the student will be able to
- Understand what event history data are and why they require specialized statistical methods.
- Manage and describe event history data.
- Formulate and answer an appropriate research question using event history data and appropriate methods.
- Use Stata for managing and editing event history data and estimating basic models for such data.
