Objectives

After the course the students should have an advanced knowledge of how to write academically with special relation to the field of medicine. They should be able to recognize and produce academic text and be aware of the internal structure of research articles in their own field.

They should be aware of the latest developments in AI and be aware of the benefits and pitfalls of using AI tools. They should able to use a broad range of AI tools to assist them in their research. They should also be able to use online electronic corpora to search for, find and analyse key language related to their research writing.

They should have a deeper understanding of the cultural differences relating to perceptions of what is considered to be good academic writing and have a greater understanding of the mechanics of writing a research paper.

Students should be able to recognize and be able to use collocation appropriately and be able to write and punctuate accurately in English. Students should be more aware of technology-enhanced research methods.

Students should be more aware of their own ability to use digital platforms for research and hoiw they can develop their skills in the future.
