Objectives
At the end of the course, the student should be able to competently give a conference presentation on a topic related to their own research to a variety of different types of audience.
They should also have a greater level of knowledge of the structure of presentations and understand the importance of visual aids and be able to use them effectively.
Students will be more aware of language techniques that can be used in presentations in order to make them more effective and impactful.
They will have a greater understanding of their body language in presentation situations, be aware of the physiological changes that presentation stress can cause and have strategies in place to deal with it.
