This course introduces the foundations of sequence analysis and Markovian modelling, with an emphasis on applied use in R. Topics include sequence representation, visualization, and clustering, as well as advanced methods such as probabilistic clustering via mixture Markov models. Participants will also practice constructing and analysing their own sequence data, enabling them to link methodological tools to substantive research problems.
