The course focuses on selected themes in contemporary academic urban geography, discussing them at the same time as practical urban development challenges that take different forms in different types of cities around the world. The themes comprise policy and planning mobilities; urban economic development; global inter-urban connectivity; the urban-rural interface; the roles of universities, arts, and cultural industries in urban development; urban sustainability transformations; and inclusive city brand co-creation.
