Objectives
After completing the course, the students will:
- have scientific understanding of the relevance of GeoAI, participatory mapping and mixed methodologies in the context of sustainability transformations globally
- have advanced practical skills in geospatial, Earth observation and participatory mapping (Public Participation GIS (PPGIS), Participatory GIS (PGIS)), citizen science, data processing, analyses and visualisation using different digital tools, methods and software
- be able to explain and showcase how geospatial data and technologies can strengthen recognition and argumentation of stakeholder values and preferences in sustainability transformation planning and management
- be able to design and implement logical geospatial data work flows and report these with graphs, maps, visualizations and flow charts, using software and data processing platforms such as QGIS, R and GEE
- are able to apply different GeoAI, participatory mapping and mixed methods in the context of real-world cases
- have improved scientific and work life skills in group working, problem-solving, geospatial data management, writing, presenting, argumenting and reporting results in English
