Objectives

Students will acquire the knowledge of the different ways in which early modern Eastern Europe was conceived in the past and by historians. It will encourage students to reflect upon notions of Eastern European identity in the past and European identity in the present. They will understand the relationships between Eastern and Western Europe in the early modern period. They will develope skills in using primary sources as well as in library resources and historical databases.
