The aim is for the student to understand important concepts of statistical data analysis, different tools of descriptive and inferential statistics, and theory behind statistical testing. After completing this course, the student understands why a certain statistical method is used, how to implement it and interpret its results correctly, and how to report the findings. The overall objective is that the student is able to design and perform statistical analysis for their own research projects, as well as understand statistical results reported by others.
