Objectives

By the end of the course the students will be able to recognize a range of professional workplace texts and identify their main communicative purpose. In order to do this, they will write a selection of typical business texts during the course. They will identify the features particular to the text e.g. overall organization of the text, register, rhetorical devices, typical linguistic structures, and then apply them to their own writing, thereby creating positive professional impressions of the writer.
