Learning outcomes
After the course, the student can cope mostly in Finnish in everyday, routine communication situations. In addition to knowing phrases and separate words the student can also understand the main points of longer conversations and messages. The student can use familiar, basic vocabulary and phrases and write short texts about the topics covered on the course, and is able to produce brief argument phrases, questions and requests. The student knows how to ask for the communication partner to repeat or to slow down the speech. The student can pronounce Finnish understandably. The student learns more basic grammar of Finnish.
The student understands the basic differences between written and spoken language, and is capable of using some everyday forms of spoken language in real communication. The student increases their language awareness by paying attention to the similarities and differences between Finnish and other languages. Along with the increasing use of Finnish the student integrates stronger to the Finnish society.
