The course consists of eight week rotation in Emergency Room, Operation Department and Intensive Care Department, eight seminars with other students, including own presentations.  and practical training in small groups. The emphasis is on principles of emergency diagnostics and monitoring, transportation, maintenance of homeostasis and life support, and primary care. The students must have basic knowledge in emergency medicine before starting and it is assumed that the students have acquired and read the following textbook before entering the course:
