Offered each spring, this course aims to familiarise students with the most important terminology and concepts needed for understanding early 21st-century society in the major Anglophone countries (the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, the United States of America, & Canada), and to familiarise students with the critical use of sources of information about these societies. The course takes a comparative approach, both comparing and contrasting these countries among themselves, and with Finland and other contemporary societies
