Subject knowledge: After completing the course, the student can define the basic concepts and phenomena related to the elastic and plastic deformation of materials. The student can explain the plastic deformation of crystalline materials using the dislocation theory, as well as the methods of strengthening these materials and their physical background. In addition, the student can describe the elastic and plastic deformation mechanisms of non-crystalline materials and their significance for the material's mechanical properties. The student knows how to analyze the mechanisms behind material fracture processes, fatigue and creep. The student can explain the principles of mechanical material testing.
Working life skills: During the course, the student develops their problem-solving and teamwork skills.
