Goals

The students • are interested in reflecting on educational issues as social and cultural phenomena • know basic concepts of sociology and educational sociology • are familiar with the broad lines of key theoretical approaches to educational sociology and the research trends in educational sociology and • are able to apply these to outlining the social nature of education

• sociology as a branch of science and a mindset • key concepts and theoretical trends in sociology and educational sociology • the historical formation of education and its social tasks • the social and cultural conditions and potential of education and growth • education, training and gender • educational policies and processes
