Learning outcomes: The participating student develops an understanding regarding the major methodological approaches used in operations and supply chain management research, enabling the student to select an appropriate method for one’s own research, and to consider the practical implications of such a choice in terms of research design.

Content: The course covers the major methodological approaches used in operations and supply chain management research.

Form of teaching: No lectures, independent study

Instructions for taking the course: The course includes two elements: (1) written examination of the literature (collection of articles), 4 cr; (2) a 10-15 page report on the alternative methods regarding the student’s own research area, including consideration of practical research design implications, 2cr.
