The student will get acquainted with Finland’s literature, visual arts and music of the turn of the 19th and the 20th centuries, set in Baltic, Nordic and broader European context. The epithet “The Golden Age of Finnish Art” will be critically analysed and approached from various viewpoints. The students will be able to understand the key phenomena in Finland’s arts, namely literature, against the backdrop of Finland’s late 19th and the early 20th century historical events.
